Lillian Board ?
Wendy Smith-Sly won silver in 1984 in the 3000 metres.

Sadly nobody remembers it because it was the famous race where Zola Budd and Mary Decker has an altercation during the race and Mary Decker fell over (or was pushed over depending on your point of view).

All anyone wanted to talk about was Zola Budd / Mary Decker and nobody ever talked about Wendy gettign the Silver.

That list gives GOLD medal winners.

Poster asked for all medal winners.

How are we defining "athletes" ?

Are we including Victoria Pendleton ?

(and she's qualified for this summer's team ... Yay, Go Vicki!!)
I would say that swimming is very athletic.

Mary Peters brings back wonderful childhood memories of a rare glimpse of light in sectarian torn Belfast. I'll always love her for that.
