Tragic. I saw the race live. Nothing anyone could have done. A hundred other times Marco's bike would have just slid out and ended up in the kitty litter but the front tyre grabbed traction again and threw him straight in front of Edwards and Rossi.

He was a young rider with a promising future. Everyone who loves the sport must be devestated.

Absolutely devastating. I can't get Marco or poor Valentino and Colin out of my head today. It's hard to imagine how they must be feeling. I've never been so glad to have missed watching a race.

From what I've seen Rossi was unsighted but both had absolutely no chance of avoiding him. Happily gone are the days of death by falling or colliding but replaced by these on track incidents. Thats 3 I can recall off the top of my head in the last year.
