Attention Steve.5 and cricket followers

I notice the Indian batsman Dravid carried his bat in the 1st innings at the 4th test and has had to come back out for the follow on.
Has this happened before?

Sorry Mighty I cant find anything to suggest that it has happened before, perhaps someone else can shed some light on the situation.
Never done at International level, done 4 times at lower level. However, West Indian Desmond Haynes came close as he was last out in both innings in a Test, the only such instance in first-class cricket
that is carrying your bat twice.....

Thanks DT.Couldn't find any mention of it happening before at test level.

Let's hope we can finish them off today :-)
