The 2010 Winter Olympics is in Vancouver. It will be fab.

But then ...

The preparation for the London 2012 Olympics is a bizarre shambles.

The only thing equally bizarre or shambolic is Russia's preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics.

So after 2010, the next time we see a decent Olympics won't be until 2016.

So, make the most of 2010.

Incidentally, one doesn't wish to cast more financial gloom on the London games, but ...

Canada last hosted an Olympics in 1976 (Montreal). Canada finished paying off its Olympic debt in 2002. On that basis, Britain could be paying for hosting the Olympics until the year 2038 !!!

Yeah cheers jj for airing our "national laundry" in public!
Exactly why is it a shambles?

The Olympic stadium is halfway complet - the olympic park is ahead of schedule.

As for finance all other Olympics were constrained by expanding costs as opposed to the original budget.

The only Olympics to make any monet, supposedly, were Los Angeles, remember the I.O.C take the profit.
Bye the Bye JJ I live in Greenwich and I never wanted the Olympics I hate the disruption its going to cause me.

And I will not be going.

So far they have secured at least 750,000,000 so although short by some distance the govenment have promised to make good.

I suggest you stop reading the Daily Mail who will attack the government for anything at all and look for yourself.
