Brave effort from James Wade
It's not even a sport, just a game, as in "Let's play a game of darts."
Like snooker. Games we used to play while having a few beers.
Ellie....game of tennis, game of volleyball, game of football...blows your theory out of the water. I think the main thing to consider here is the effort involved. So there already is olympic darts....it's called javelin LOL

If shooting and archery are sports ..........?
Point taken, Anngel! But, in which other sport can they drink beer whilst performing???
Question Author
No one has dominated their chosen sport/game like Phil Taylor has.
(unless someone can enlighten me ?)

It is a game of skill.

I see your point, Mick. I don't really understand why shooting is considered a sport either, you don't have to be spectacularly fit to do it, neither for archery. So I suppose darts is not that different.

Kerplunk.
Phil Taylor has only dominated the Barry Hearn PDC "World" Championship.

The true World Championship is run by the BDO and the worldwide player base from junior to senior level is an idea candidate for an Olympic sport.

Drinking and smoking on stage has been banned by the BDO for many years.
I hear Rugby is going to be in the next Olympics about time, I can't see why it is not included now.
