OK if you have £750 a month going in so I guess they are targeting away from the poor. 3% sounds good but it is of course at the expense of a teller. I wonder how the girl on the checkout will deal with a request for a SWIFT payment !

Will you trust Tesco, or should they stick to getting food right- which they seem to have been failing at recently?

3% sounds ok, but will they have to resort to horse-trading to achieve it?
I'm seriously considering changing to Tesco once they launch. I went to the Halifax to pay cash in a few weeks ago and the teller refused to serve me and said I had to use the machine, again yesterday I had to use the machine and there was a queue. At least if I can pay money in at the supermarket I won't be wasting my time driving to the nearest Halifax and paying parking.

I think it was only 300 shops though so check yours is one before you move !!
I have banked with Tesco for over 5 years now, with a saving account. I have a salary paid in every month by BACS, and if I want to transfer money to my main Co-op account, its easy to do in any Post Office. It is rare that I have any others money to put in, but if I do have a cheque or some cash, then the Customer Services counter at any Tesco seems to manage quite well enough. When I want to take money out, any cash point will do, not just Tesco.

Their on-line facility works very well, and the security is better than most.

I have no complaints whatsoever with this account, although I shall probably keep my main Current Account with the Co-op, who have swerved me well for 41 years !
There are much better current accounts available but I wouldn't hesitate to open a Tesco bank account if it were the best one for me.
No swerving involved, just serving !
