Resigned before he was pushed I think.

I guessed as much a few weeks back because whenever the board gives a manager their full backing, it usually means they've been given an ultimatum!

As the saying goes: A pat on the back is just a recce for the knife.

Now that Kenny Dalglish has been sacked, I really can't see Roberto Martinez taking the job.



It would be too much of a step down.
The writing was on the wall with his mis management of the Suarez racist incident. Thought they might have found an upstairs role for him though.
