What exactly does Roy's agent do? Did he get him the England job? Does he advise him on what to have for breakfast?

A football manager's agent - hmmmmmmm a good job if you can get it.

Yes, his Agent went to the FA and said "Can Roy be manager of England" and they said "OK".

Seriously, an agent will try to get the best "deal" money wise for a player or manager.

They will also study the contract to make sure everything is covered, like what happens if Roy is sacked at later date, what is the pay off.

The agent will also check the contract for what Roy is allowed to do and not do while England manager. For example is he allowed to do other work while England manager (appear in adverts, write for newspapers, be a TV pundit etc).

Also how often he is allowed to travel (and how much Roy is allowed to claim in expenses) for foreign trips, looking at the oppsition etc.

So there are a load of things an agent can check before Roy signs.
