Should the F.A. Cup semi final against Everton have gone ahead on April 15 as a tribute & to show the city still respects the ones who lost their lives.?

I would say yes, They could have held a service before the game to remember the 96.

All the other football clubs that have suffered disasters in the past still play on those anniversaries, so should Liverpool Football Club.

The idiots that have been threatening Alan Davies on Twitter over his comments on this matter should be arrested and charged.

Of course the game should go ahead-with appropriate black armbands/2 minutes silence or 'clapping' whatever. Liverpool very quick to wear their hearts on their sleeves-remember Heysel anyone? are Liverpool going to remember the Juventus fans as well? Sympathy should work both ways when you are a club involved in two of the most dreadful sporting disasters of recent times.

I think the game should have been played on the 15th. There's no doubt the 96 casualties are fondly remembered by friends and relatives but there is also great respect for them from everyone else. Whatever date it's played, that will always be the case. In the midst of life, we are in death.

I have to agree - as long as the deceased are remembered appropriately and respectfully then I don't see the problem. The ongoing abuse of Alan Davis is all too endemic of the sort of pathetic keyboard warriors who hide behind anonymity to issue vile threats.

Liverpool v Everton at Wembley on the anniversary It could have been a fitting tribute but would have set a precedent.

The point is, there are many people who were there on that day who are still badly effected by the events. Don't forget, our manager witnessed it all and attended all of the subsequent funerals.

As for Mrsspag mentioning Heysel, every year top officials from LFC attend a memorial in Turin commemorating the tragedy. We have never forgotten it, nor should we be allowed to.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Liverpool fans forget it, merely that after all these years it would be possible to play a game on that date as long as the occasion is solemnly and respectfully observed.

I have witnessed worse, (and I don't mean to diminish what happened that day in any way), but I realise that life goes on. I firmly believe the tragedy should be remembered, (and those at fault brought to justice), but surely it is possible to play a game on that date?
