All right I give up. What was the logic behind the rule that a player who removes his shirt when celebrating a goal must be yellow-carded ? How subtle is it? If he's got an identical shirt underneath, or anything else that spares the maidenly blushes of the crowd by concealing all of the skin underneath, is he still yellow-carded [the answer appears to be 'yes'] ? It's no more incitement to the crowd than other, unpunished, celebrations

Of course, since this is the rule, and well-known, any player who does that gets no prizes for clever thinking. He should confine himself to more logical acts; rocking an imaginary baby, making pelvic thrusts at the corner flag, shooting an imaginary gun etc.

No one gets a yellow card for removing a shirt, they get a yellow card for ungentlemenly conduct. Yes I realise that it is farcical to apply such a term top what is basically a game for girkly yobs but there you are. There are only 4 ways to get a yellow card, the acronym that referees use is DUPE, the D and the U in there covers 90% of yellow cards. There are no rules in football only laws. There are rules of the competition however I imagine that the diistinction will prove troubling for many.
Bill, age stops me from running around kicking a ball about anymore but I did play Sunday League football for quite a few years like many others who watch a game on a Saturday..Or whenever else they play now.
Football is probably the most popular sport in the World which probably explains why people who don't like it feel the need to continually have a dig (see above)
Contrary to the popular belief of it's detractors 99% of those who attend games cause no trouble whatsoever.I've been going since I was 4 years old in 1970 and have never punched anybody.
Troublemakers tend to be troublemakers in society most days of the week not just for a couple of hours on a weekend.
I'm sure you had lots of fun watching motorsport,I used to travel around the world watching horse racing..Everybody has an interest and also no interest in other sports..Vive la difference as we say in West Bromwich.
Football is not the free for all riot that some believe it is..In fact trouble is very very rare.
Well said mighty WBA.

Does anybody know why Bill and his cat's answers were removed?
They weren't offensive or anything and were well written with some good points..I'm mystified.

That Icelandic celebration is a work of art btw :-)
WBA - I've just looked at bill's profile and unfortunately, his status is Banned at the moment. No idea why.
