Buddhism without a doubt.

Something along the lines of Wicca based beliefs. No judgement, no prerequisits, just a love for the earth and all things natural.

The one I know............too much trouble to investigate others as they all are 'man made'

Whiffy, why post an answer like that? If you didn't want to participate you didn't have to.
Some people........................

Sorry whiffy. I should have addressed that to Whlffey. (This is confusing - Why do they bother!!!)

I'm a lapsed Catholic whose now Pagan.

All athists are sure of the on existence of God, but fail to give a plausible explanation as to where all of this "stuff "came from, (something from nothing?)
And .... abiogenesis is not proven, despite major scientific breakthroughs caimingto simplify the process of life evolving without the benefit of DNA.
Holes in our theory?
What about great gaps in yours?
Don't be smug. Don't go to hell.

Theland, When you threaten people with eternal damnation for not believing as you do, (in your hypothetical ‘creator of the universe’), has it ever occurred to you that those of us who respect our own minds enough to not believe something simply because someone tells us we should, has it ever crossed your mind that we might prefer ‘hell’ (hypothetically assuming it did exist) to living for an eternity with ‘people’ like you?

If the boy bands are in heaven I'm going to hell with Bill Hicks and the many people that rocked..
Personally I would probably follow a Wicca type of religion or agnostic as they look like they have a lot of fun.

Budhism because I really like their philosophy about suffering being born of desire. - love the philosophy hate the mumbo-jumbo.
I love Theland's Idea that because Science doen't have a full explanation for something it must mean God did it!
Strangely belief in Thor died out long before the discovery of electricity.
If we had a good explanation of the big bang and abiogenesis would he abandon his superstitions?
I doubt it!

Theland, you've confirmed the suspicions I've voiced many times here. You don't love your God - you fear him - and fear is what keeps you believing. Believe in me or else! Some loving God!
Just one rather shaky problem with your philosophy. If your God knows the secrets of all hearts, as we're told he does, he knows precisely why you believe in him. As far as I'm aware, fear doesn't entirely meet the criteria for a ticket into heaven - so after wasting years of your life quaking in your boots at the thought of your potential final destination, you could end up joining those damned atheists in hell after all.
We don't know all the answers, but thankfully, the search for knowledge continues. If it didn't, each and every one of us would be trapped in the mindless superstition of the dark ages, as you are.

If by religion you mean a type of belief, then I'd say Pantheism. If however you mean organised religion, I'd maybe go for Quakerism (though Buddhism and Taoism are good too).

Question Author
Thanks guys. I was merely wondering what athiests look for in a religion and strangely enough mostly its love one another dont harm each other kind of mantra. (My take anyway)
I just wish more religious people shared that view.

My answer is on the S&C site where the question was first asked.

Jock, I’ll go for Pantieism too!!
Seriously, though ... it definitely wouldn’t be Christianity due to its appalling Human Rights record.
Buddhism seems the safest bet.
Islam is a dead duck these days in this regard.
