Are you ok or still hitting the bottle? I know we dont see eye to eye (it would be a boring existance if we did) but let us know that you'r ok. I know how powerful alcohol can be, Ive lost friends through it (young friends, not old wino's) Tell us whats happening. A relapse isn't the end of the world, just a chance to revaluate our lives. Ive had addiction problems too.

Not on here, Mani , if that's ok with you!
In Sports, but no rush- whenever you feel up to it. x

Mani, why were you suspended if you don't mind me asking?

No, not Soloman's mother- from a character in a Thomas Hardy novel! Although it's quite possible she was named after above! x

sheribeee...I too thought that Mani was a total tw@t at the time as well and gave (I think) as good as I got. If I'd known that he was half cut at the time I wouldnt have given a toss quite frankly. We all say things in drink that we dont mean and say things just because wer'e angry (& p!ssed). I wish I had a £ for everything nasty thing that ive said in drink and didnt mean....be a fookin millionaire now. In addition he DID apologise, which I can gather was a lot more sincere than what he said when drunk.
No doubt me and Mani will have a lot more head to heads on AB but for the time being, I wish him well in getting straight again.

And why WERE you suspended?
You wernt taking you keks of and dancing on the pub table in front of potential clients whilst balancing a bag of ready salted on your head were you?

I can back to work legless after my lunch break, could hardly walk straight. To get to the toilets you have to walk through the main office and I was worried everyone would see that I was drunk.
So, I had a slash in a tall potted plant in the corridor. A Security Guard saw it on CCTV and reported me.
Maybe I will laugh about it one day.

Oh Mani - poor you.I sympathise.
But the next step, as I'm sure you've discovered, is drinking by yourself alone when there's nobody there to see you stagger. It's a slippery slope, but you know that already, don't you? x

Bad luck Mani you should have done it in a bottle under your desk.

My only contact with this problem is through my daughter. She has to much and becomes something else. I haven't heard from her in some weeks since she had one to many and called me all the names under the sun. Her reasons for doing it I understand and she is getting help for it.
Other than that I cannot empathize only sympathize with those who are dealing with it.
I hope you find a way to release yourselves and find peace.
Godbless and take care.

Mani, I'm so sorry you have problems. Try to be strong, won't you. You've done it before, and you got through it, so you know you can do it again - and you really can. Take care of yourself.
Lots of love to you.

Mani, forgive me getting in the act here. My spouse recently died and was considered an alcoholic. Though he did imbibe whisky recklessly the alternative was pain killers for arthritis. Arthritis put him in a wheelchair but whisky got him on his feet. I'm impressed with your lucidity but need to express a warning: My hubby's Will has raised a caveat by his bruvs due to his drinking. Even the 'clinic' where he attended AA meetings confirm him 'mentally unfit' to sign a Will! I will ask my barrister to look at your site to prove alcoholics can be lucid.
