children out of wedlock

What do the Bible say about a man and a woman that have children out of wedlock that live together and are rasing their children? Is it ok for that man and that woman to still have sex? In what way will this situation have an effect on the children and the parents? If the parents marry will their sin be justified?

Marriage in the old, old testament is testified once a man lies down with a woman. This woman is then his wife. No ceremony needed. The children were legitimate.

The circumstances of one's birth has nothing to do with whether a person will be received by God. It is what he or she does with their life in relation to God that counts.

(As I understand it) Joseph and Mary were betrothed to be married (engaged) Mary conceived by divine intervention meaning they didnt have sex to produce him.

It kind of begs the question; why did God chose an unmarried couple for this?

Well, she had to be a virgin, didn't she? I suppose that's a good enough reason. (Not that I believe it for a moment!).

What do the Bible say about a man and a woman that have children out of wedlock that live together and are rasing their children?

It's not considered best practice. (However it's not like they did something terrible like buy that poxy Mariah Carey song at Christmas time which is really frowned on).

Is it ok for that man and that woman to still have sex?

It's still not considered best practice and marriage would be the preferred arrangement. (But if you do then for goodness sake don't wear a condom cause that's really bad).

In what way will this situation have an effect on the children and the parents?

All involved will spend their whole life wondering if they will be cast in the firey pit by a God who gave them the toys but told them they could only play with them restricted conditions

If the parents marry will their sin be justified?

As long as they marry each other it should all be fine. (The kids born out of wedlock will still be considere bar stewards but the way some kids are growing up today, you just havethank heaven they don't have an ASBO).

I think the church has moved on since those days; couples that have previously been married can now re-marry in churches - this was never case even 15-20 years ago.

You'll find church-going co-habitting, unmarried couples with kids in the pews each Sunday; maybe some of the older members of the congregation will inwardly frown upon their marital status.

I have to agree with China, although I am sure she realises that she may well be destined for the fiery pits of AB hell herself after mentioning the name that should never be mentioned. Ever.

Be warned though that whilst buying any by-product of the MC sewage outlet is definitely considered an eternal sin, buying the latest X-Factor single for the Christmas No.1 spot is borderline, depending on whether God likes to hum the tune and recalls the original version as being a lot better.

I think it is ok for the man and woman to continue having sex and I would encourage this as it will take their mind off religious matters. But if they are really really concerned about the supposed biblical implications then why not just get married or even abstain from doing the horizontal lambada? The children will be fine, I'm sure.

Franklin - why not just read the bible and find out? if you think it has any importance then it is your duty to yourself to be informed accurately an not via others' opinions

Question Author

lil o lady I agree with you on some aspects regarding my own research. I have been reading the Bible to find all the answers but I have yet to find a situation or specific answer for my question. If you know a book out of the Bible, chapter and verse I would love to check it out. I'm not her to be criticized but rather gain an aspect of what knowledge people have obtained and if possible run across someone like a pastor that can answer my questions. If you decide not to answer my questions that is fine. But remember the only bad question is the one question not asked

frank...why not read the ENTIRE bible for yourself?
Its something not many people do, preffering instead to ask their pastors, vicars, priests etc.
You might be surprised to know that many atheists (on here anyway)know more about the bible than believers do?
And you are absolutly right, the only bad question is the one not asked...so ask away. You may be surprised...

Sometimes the answers are not in a book and you need authoritative (spiritual) guidance.

If they were then we’d all have multiple OU degrees coming out of our ears.

Child birth out of wedlock is deeply wicked and immoral.

In a past life, I lived on a poor white working class council estate in Newcastle. Even those fortunate enough never to have passed through such a wretched place are probably getting a good picture of it ; females unable to keep their legs closed after the age of 14, "unheld" babies everywhere, illegitimate children terrorising everyone, busted up women spending their last benefits on peroxide and mini skirts in the hope that the next booze swigging retard who passes by will get them "oop the duff".

I came to terms with the fact that this was a poor deprived area where morality had completelly collapsed. Somehow I found a way to be Christian and love these people. I even keep in touch with a few. (I don't invite them to my house though!!)

So, to cut a long story short I worked hard, became sucessful and purchased my own home in one of the cities most exclusive suburbs. But then, low and behold my neighbours are an unmarried couple with two children, one of whom has a different father. (a black father, suprise suprise).

I try to be a good Christian neighbour. I say hello and wave to them in the garden but in all honesty I am just filled with disgust when I see these illegitimate little sh!ts. I really worked hard and made a lot of sacrafices to get where I am, and I don't deserve to have this type of dirt on my doorstep. If the estate agent had told me about this I would never have brought the damn place.
