I disagree with your statement. Lots and lots of people in general population die young, its just that the ones you mention are famous before they die.

Elvis had a heart attack (I think) hardly rock and rol.
Buddy Holly was in a plane crash, could happen to anyone.
Marc Bolan died in a car crash, ditto, and Michael Huthchins was the worlds dumbest w@nker.
Hardly rock and roll but I like it..

I'm sorry to say I laughed at that wizard!
Have to agree with octavius - it's only because they are famous that you hear about it. There are plenty of old rock stars out there

Trying to make a list of the others not mentioned yet which most readily spring to mind ...

Jim Morrison (The Doors)
John Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
Keith Moon (The Who)
Jimi Hendrix
Janis Joplin
Karen Carpenter

There aren't that many, really.

I blame the food

Elvis...too many burgers
Marc Bolan... on his way to pick up a take-away
Janis Joplin...stuffed a sandwich too quick
Brian Jones...held his breathe too long for a crabby pate
Karen Carpenter...what food?

well, Mama Cass, Kurt Cobain, Ian Curtis... and the odd cases back in the 60s of Bobby Fuller, the Singing Nun and others. Some died of youthful excess but some just the opposite, of suicide, and some were just ill.

But some of the survivors are ...

Keef, Mick, Bill, Charlie
Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker
Van Morrison
Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones
Eric Burdon, Alan Price, Chas Chandler
Jon Lord, Richie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Ian Paice
Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell
Paul and Ringo

As you can see, the survivors are in the majority!

And why is Ozzy Osbourne still alive?
Or more importantly, why isn't Sharon dead yet, surely someone could bump her off for all our sakes....

Sir Cliff was a real rock 'n' roller ... sex and drugs etc.

The very depths of depravity!

Food kills should have mentioned Mamma Cass and the ham sandwich.

Keith Richards really aught to be dead but defies the logic.

And PLEASE Michael's name is Hutchence.

Apparently The Singing Nun was 52 when she died, so I don’t think she qualifies. Just saw a picture of her girlfriend ... what a handsome creature!

Some people aught to use a spell-checker, I agree.
