This is partly why I am sick of Islam. These people have money and still demand free halal food. Does any other religion get this kind of special consideration?

No-one has to eat meat, so their demands should be ignored and vegetarian food supplied if they can't afford it themselves. Is there more of the link? There was a charitable group in Calais, which worked hard to provide a free meal a day and then got complained at because it wasn't spicy enough. Anyone who knows about French cuisine knows that their idea of a curry is to show the food a jar of curry paste! Would like more information, but it certainly seems unreasonable.

we dont see the whole picture
we hardly ever hear about islamic charitable impulses in the western press - doesnt fit the image of bogey-man ....
this one only got air time because they butchered the christian driver ( ie did fit the image of cruel pitiless bogey-man)

My beef is with the ones that are ungrateful gits and use their religion to get special consideration in the 'West'. I wonder how Europeans would be treated in predominately muslim countries using Christianity as a crutch to get their own way!

“Halal Food”
This phrase should be “haram” (ie. unacceptable or illegal) to every person who thinks that animals should not be subjected to unnecessary pain, suffering and stress during slaughter. The Islamic and Judaist method of slaughter whereby the animal is alive, cogent and conscious when it has its throat cut is both barbaric and obnoxious and should have been confined to the moral bin of history long ago.
The argument for “halal” and “kosher” slaughtered animals is nonsensical and based (wouldn’t you just know it?) on the uninformed preachings of Mohammed and unidentified Jewish prophets from over 3500 years ago. That's quite a thing. To cling to such an archaic, nonsensical belief, that animals essentially don't experience pain and suffering in the same way we humans do is stupidity and ignorance writ large.

Indeed not, Peter. As a person who knows sub-Saharan Africa, speaks Arabic and is an Islamic expert can you please comment on the third pillar. Ignoring the practice, are there theoretical conditions attached to the non-Muslim's receipt of of Zatak?
