Women fought (and died) in this country to get the vote and other benefits that men have had for hundreds of years.
Then we have allowed a load of people in this country who treat their women like second class citizens and live like it was 200 years ago.
All part of "benefits" of the great multicultural society.
Other "benefits" include honour killing, female genital mutilation, thousands of people in this country who cant or wont speak English, men with multiple wives (who can claim benefits for all of them), and much more.
Part of the reason I now hate living in this country when once I loved it.

If any other section of the population treated women in the way that Muslim women are treated there would be absolute hell to pay. Similarly if anybody else espoused views on gay people the way Islam views them they may very well find themselves down the nick to help Plod with his enquiries.

whilst that is true, it's not in many clubs now, and besides that is sport, which has been the preserve of men until in fairly recent years.
this isn't about some sport, this is about the segregation of the sexes, in a mosque, still don't know why they need separating, is it to the men can't concentrate if the women are praying, that would seem illogical if so. Then nothing about their religion seem particularly logical. not most religions whilst we about it.,

US: Women got the vote in 1869 in Wyoming Territory in the USA followed by Colorado(1893), Utah (1896), Idaho (1896), Washington (1910), California (1911), Arizona (1912), Kansas (1912), Oregon (1912), Illinois (1913), Nevada (1914) and Montana (1914).
In 1920 the Nineteenth Amendment gave most women the right to vote.

1902 - Australia , although aboriginal women were not eligible to vote until 1967, when along with aboriginal men, they were granted full citizenship.

that was a little bit of plagiarism, but you get the drift, segregation in mosques i guess is a small thing in the reality of life for women in backwards countries, those who suffer at the hands of their husbands and maybe his family, the terrible cases of FGM, and rape as a weapon of war, it's all there...
They do go to mosques, where there is a separate provision for them (often upstairs). In theory they can go to any mosque and stand behind the men but in practice it doesn't happen very often. Some purpose built mosques have very nice ladies' accommodation. If they do go, you'll probably find they come out of a separate door.
just so you don't think it's just in the backwards countries, i have read a fair deal about this, and seen a number of documentaries, women being interviewed, but it's still incredibly shocking..

Em - As far as I'm aware all the rules in Islam about women are there to absolve men from not being able to control their passion. So if a man can't look at a woman without getting the "urge" then why not blame the woman as it says in the bible and no doubt the Koran.
Blame the women and treat them as a different species. Keep them separate and keep them covered and if that doesn't work then flog her or imprison her when she gets raped. It's all her fault anyway.
