Do we allow such popeishness on behalf of the consort of the leader of the Church of England and Defender of the faith?
I always think that would be better spelt 'tedium'.
I think a Te Deum can be rather beautiful..............

In Westminster Cathedral, then?
Jake-the-peg, wherever do you go to church? While it's true that there are a significant number of Scots Presbyterians, especially in the west, who think of the 'Te Deum' as unacceptably popeish (or popish), in fact it's as staunchly Anglican as anything in that line could be. Please check your liturgical facts.
