I'd suggest that most of us are cursed with a conscience (psycopaths excluded).

This causes feelings of guilt and inadequacy, which some people can shift on to a father figure up in the sky.

They are lucky in that, but when the father figure's representatives on earth cash in and become rich, or send them to kill people with a different father figure, then they are not so lucky...

Personally, I prefer to worship Ab Editor who demands nothing more than constant silliness, and promises me nothing in return.

Praise him and pass the bananas
And thanks to sir.prize, whose Zen like post perfectly sums up the value of organised religions
//We are the ones that didn't fall for the claptrap in the fist place or have seen the foolishness of it and turned away.//

and compared to everything in the world, thats wise?
wise as an old owl
ok, whatever makes you happy.
Sith, do you want to be common person or a wise person? It is a trick question. Because if you want to be known as wise (that maojority would like to and I know you chose common) then you have to be the one who does not believe in religion. In other words you can't be religious and wise at the same time.
I agree with Keyplus. It is a trick question.

Doesn't tell you anything either way about whether the observation is true though.
I agree with Keyplus too, you can't be religious and wise at the same time
I also agree with Keyplus.
Keyplus - “... In other words you can't be religious and wise at the same time...”

Well said.
What about the agnostics??
everyone, you do know keyplus was talking with sarcasm? dont get happy. And also a lot of the world most wisest people are religious and i can name a lot if you want. You cannot deny that they were not wise. What about atheists. Wisest people. Probably Richard Dawkins, and thats it and even that is subject to discussion.

keyplus, thats why i chose common. I know what these atheists are like by now.
^^ :o)
You got us sussed Sigh, Atheists are all fools for not believing in funny fairy stories :-)
