You would be hard pressed to make it up....

As if the Church does not already have enough to worry about with all the allegations of paedophile priests, now some church decides to stage a kidnapping of kids to educate them into the realities of religious persecution.

Faith can seriously warp rationality.....

// Filipino Catholics crucify themselves to mark Good Friday //

Blimey, that seems a bit harsh. In our house we exchange chocolate eggs.
Evil
I just do not understand their "It sounds a bit hokie" attitude to somethings. Without knowing anything about the 'hokie' subject. I was at church where they had a leaflet on transadental meditation. I thought oh how interesting and picked it up. It went on to warn of the dangers of this because one man went mad after trying it. I did wonder if he was going that way before it and also that one person's experience of anything isn't a scientific or spiritual evidence of how everyone is going to experience the same thing.
The Telegraph article - ""When they put the nails in my palm, that's very painful", said the 49-year- old before his crucifixion. Nails are also driven through his feet. "Of course I'm nervous. But I pray deep in my heart. I feel much better when I get of the cross."" deserves a mention as the biggest understatement of the year I think, There again he should be used to it by now... 54 times - wierd
It's almost beyond belief. How can people be so breathtakingly stupid to think that this was, in any way, a good idea? Not one of the protagonists to this 'fake' kidnapping should be allowed to work with children ever again.
Ummmm, //Harry Potter is full of evil spells. Honestly!!! That's what my Mother told my young son!!//

I’ve heard this from several people of religion – but I’m amazed they know so much about it because none I’ve spoken to have ever read the books. I think they’re afraid to

And it seems Yoga is evil too.

Difficult to believe that grown men - especially those in positions of authority - can spout such claptrap – but they do - and the sad thing is people believe them! So much for the sheep having minds of their own!
She was obviously spouting what she'd been told. She did read the (some) books in the end because my son was/is obsessed. She hasn't mentioned it since so I think she might have quietly changed her mind :-)

NO SH!T!!!!
and people think that Atheists are crazy :)
@ the link...

//The Harry Potter books, which have sold millions of copies worldwide, “seem innocuous” but in fact encourage children to believe in black magic and wizardry, Father Amorth said. //

lol....I think they soon find out that wizardry doesn't work. Especially when the chocolate spells didn't work...

//He has also claimed that the sex abuse scandals which have engulfed the Catholic Church in the US, Ireland, Germany and other countries was proof that the Anti-Christ is waging a war against the Holy See. //

Now that ^^ is truly shifting the blame.

Nutters!!
The thing is, these people who set themselves up as leaders of men think they can do and say as they like regardless of the damage they cause – and they fully expect other people to respect their right to do that and accept it without question. What gives the stupid man, the subject of this question, the right to do what he did? Nothing. He, like the rest of them, is an arrogant idiot.

I don’t know if anyone remembers the church group that tried to take children out of Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake?

Why do these people think they can do no wrong – and more to the point, why do other people think they can do no wrong?
