Intolerant, bigoted morons.

Any ideology not supported by reason can only be maintained through force.

Also in the news today, it seems that a bunch of murderous Islamists (Boko Haram) are flexing their homicidal muscles again in an attempt to impose their ideology on an entire nation...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/...world-africa-16663693 Once again, the 'religion of peace' shoots itself in the foot. I'm amazed it's got any feet left to shoot. |

Boko Haram, a.k.a. People Committed to the Propagation of the Prophet's Teachings and Jihad.
Sounds like the Judean People's Front...... Or the People's Front of Judea. |

One man's 'reason' is another's madness. Millions who support such appalling ideology are utterly convinced that they have drawn their conclusions by way of reason and so not only acquiesce willingly - but actively encourage it. No force necessary. |

For those unable to distinguish reason from madness, coercion is unnecessary. They follow like sheep to the slaughter, willingly . . . whilst worshipping the wolf. |

Naomi, i'm not speechless, this is just another example of mankind tying itself into any knot available, and not extricating itself by dint of common sense, and reason. I wonder why people follow so blindly even when faced with such extreme behaviour on the part of the leaders, a divine right to harm others for their beliefs.

people are seduced into acts of madness or evil by dehumanising and labelling others. even on ab news if certain words are posted the thread automatically takes two sides. which one is wrong? well none because they all believe that they are all in the right. human psychology.
many psychological tests and experiements have been carried out over the years to demonstrate the capacity of good people to do bad things, if they are convinced the 'wolf' is right. is religion any different because there really is no basis for that prejudice and hatred of anyone different? is it any different from duffing someone up because of their colour, their social status or the team they support? no. but when it comes to maniacal medieval laws that permits it or encourages it. then yes. tragic. |

The fact that evil people can wrap themselves in the robes of piety(maybe for a political end) doesn't lessen the essential truth of the religion they profane.

In many cases, it is religion that the politician appeals to as the underwriter of their authority. |

What essential truth?
What a destructive philosophy this is. You have to believe in something - otherwise you're breaking the law. It wouldn't surprise me if there were a lot of liars in Indonesia! |
|
It is apparent that as we humans evolve, more and more of us become aware that religion is the most destructive force in the world.
Tyrants and terrorists have been successful in spreading fear and control under the guise of religion for thousands of years. The sooner we get a more enlightened world, the better. |

Sandy.. there may be 'essential truths' in some religions but I doubt that anyone will ever find them amongst the 'untruths'
