Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future of society? I always try to put the best slant on most situations, but it is becoming increasingly evident that we are rushing toward the precipice , whether we go over or not will be a close run thing.Even the most optimistic person must realise that we can`t keep going the way we are. I would love to hear some positive thoughts, I`m feeling particularly depressed today.

Postive thoughts about the future of society? Sorry Claymore, can't help. :o/

ooops - typo - 'positive'.

Here are some positive things about the world today:
1) No Cold War, therefore no immediate threat of global thermonuclear war.
2) Advances in modern medicine and surgery continue.
3) Space exploration and discovery continues.
4) Progress in human rights and animal rights slowly continues.
5) Steps are being taken to ensure pollution is controlled.
(All together now)
'Always look on the bright side of life...'

The future of society is down to our children and how we educate and raise them.
I believe, that children are the future
Teach them well, and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride, to make it easier
Let the children's laughter
Remind us how it used to be
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
Never found anyone who fulfilled that need
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadow
If I failed, if I succeed, at least I'll live as I believe
And no matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all is happening to me
I've found the greatest love of all inside of me
The greatest love of all is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
Is the greatest love of all
I love myself, how about you?

You have achieved the greatest love of all, Octavius!

the noonsphere awaits, 2012 for galactic switchone, we will be fine.
It will all be star trek one day.

R1, its hard to be humble when you’re perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror, cos I get better looking each day ….

Vib, I reckon that because the perceptual failure of Absolute energy has resulted in distortion of sense of Time in human minds, moving from bad to worse, this is the characteristic of transition time. To reach the ultimate destination of the Noonsphere, a stage of globalisation and unification of human minds towards universal telepathy and consequent spiritualization of life through blending of science of spirituality and science of matter, we will have to move a lot faster to make it in 2012.

Oct - you are a giant amongst men, is there any subject that you do not know about?

Don’t know much about the monkeys, but I’m all for a ‘many hands make light work’ philosophy.

LOL at Billy!
I read an article a couple of years ago by the Astronomer Royal, Sir Martin Rees.
He reckoned that the human race would be extinct by 2100.
That's only 90 years away.
The future is bright! The future is.....................

Sorry Octavius, but that song is a complete load of cr4p!
"Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to"
"Learning to love yourself"
What a load of balls!
No offence to you, Octavius but the song is garbage.

I'm optimistic. No matter how bad I think things will get I suspect they will be much worse.

Good one Beso! that cheered me up no end lol. Things are a bit dodgy here in Oz. but we`re on top of the world compared to UK.

JackSporran,
I have to disagree with you on the subject of Human rights and Animal Rights. They are getting worse by the day. Especially by Big Brother Labour government.
|
|
|
Octavius is right, but you have to learn to love other people as well.
Our children ARE our future, and it's up to us to teach them manners, morals, to have standards and respect for those around them.

claymore, what does "rushing towards the precipice" actually, really mean? You make it sound like some "final" event - what do you think that would be?
I feel more optimistic some days than others - there are always positive things to highlight for most of us. I do believe that you can make things seem worse by consciously adopting a very negative putlook, which some people choose to do.
|
|
|
I of course meant outlook - although I'm sure some people do have a negative "putlook"
