Bribery

Have you ever tried to bribe anyone or has anyone ever tried to bribe you?

I've bribed many people overseas, especially in Pakistan. I even bribed a driving instructor to get me my licence, this was my second attempt - the first time I bribed the wrong intsructor!!

I've tried to bribe the police in England twice, both unsucessfully. The first time I was warned that I had committed a criminal offence, and the second time the Officer quickly removed the money from his pocked and pushed it back into my hand. I also once tried to bribe one of my University Lecturers but she quickly walked away with a horrified look on her face.

I have however been sucessful in bribing a Curry's Sales Assistant, a video shop worker and a nighclub Bouncer.

Do you think that everyone has their price, or are people in certain professions just too professional or affluent to be swayed by illegal financial gain?

Everyone has their price....................and the man who cannot be bribed has the highest price, of all.

I bribed my way past a Customs Officer entering Dominica - I had to hand over one of my homebaked banana bread loaves before he let me through - I was carrying a wide variety of home comforts for my then-husband who was working there at the time.

You sound as though you are proud of the fact that you have bribed people. No, not everybody can be bribed - I can't for one.

There must be something you desire. If you saw me stealing a car, and I offered you a few ££££ to look the other way. What would you do?

Hello Mani, no one could bribe me either. It's called having principles.

I'd shop you Mani, no question. That car would belong to someone else - I know what I would feel if my car was stolen and just could not allow that to happen to somebody else if it was in my power to stop it.

You can not bribe me Mani and that is a fact. Although I am Pakistani but everyone even there you can not bribe. Police there, yes and I feel sorry for low ranked. Money they get a month can not buy them even bread, although that does not mean they should accept bribery but unfortunately people sell there hereafter for something in this world. But I am 100% sure you will never be able to buy me with all these things.

I thought exactly the same as Catron, was happy to see another non corrupted person. This isn't good, these are overseas customes and not ones we(I) want practiced here. Decent honest people don't bribe. You are in effect clearly stating you are dishonest, currupt and untrustworth, bragging and being proud of it.

I had to pay £1000 to stop two gangsters from harming somebody I love.

At the time I had sellotape on my glasses to keep them together.

Cruel people.

There wqs a thread recently about coincidence on R & S.

Anyway, at the time, my Dad, (R.I.P. 2005), had just given me and my brother and sister, £1000 each.

Long story, but he was like that, wanted nothing for himself, and knew I was on a hard bank in spite of working long hours.

Anyway, at exactly the same time as I was trying to figure out how to raise the money, advance on the plastic, or a straight loan from the bank, and then suddenly, Dad made his gift. Wow!

You can imagine how I looked at it as prayer answered.

I'll tell you about the gangsters if you like ..........

I did try the Police at first, but they were a joke.

They said it was bad business gone wrong and nothing they could do.

These guys were a good cure for constipation i can tell you.

But I feel sorry for them Imagine bringing home the bacon by threatening people like that?

I won't bore you anymore.

Somebody previous said, "Everybody has a price .... "

Wrong!

I don't.

Money is not important to me, people are.
