Is there a psychologist out there?

Quote:
I want to live alone. I enjoy my own company .I am not interested in other people if they are not useful to me. I don't like to socialise as most people just talk rubbish.

Comments please?

Lofty - You are not going to believe this! I've just had someone at the door. I went in to the kitchen and got down on my knees lol!!!!!! I suddenly thought, what the hell am I doing? answer the door! The power of suggestion Lofty!!!
It was a Polish man with a small card that said -
I am a Polish student @ Manchester University selling my art work!!!

Skyep, my neighbours have CCTV! They use it just to be nosey. They sit in all day and watch it instead of television!! Funnily enough, they are just the sort of people who do call round unexpectedly and I definitely always hide from them if at all possible otherwise I am subjected to mindless gossip for hours!!

Ha, ha Skyep! These so called polish students are usually conmen. If they were genuine they would at least try to speak to you instead of showing you a card. I doubt if they would not have at least a smattering of English if they are studying here. Most Polish people I know are very good at English!!

You should have crawled off out of sight ;o)

Lofty - I actually laughed at myself crouching down, first time I've ever done that! I blame it all on you! Yeah, I thought the same about my caller too!

Perhaps we can have a new category for us unsociable people 'Hermits'. But we are all being very sociable to each other!

Do you think that the kind of world we all live in today has turned us all in on ourselves?

hello, can I join the social cast offs too? haha
actually I love to chat to people outside, at the shops, etc but that's usually 'cos I know they're not going to follow me indoors.
I'd hate to be someone who couldn't stand their own company & I do know some & I can spot a needy, cling-on at 500 yards. I know exactly what skype means about not being held to arrangements. I would crouch under the window but I'd have to shout for the person to go & fetch some help to get me back up...hahaha

Just caught you Robinia. Welcome to the club. I too have great difficulty in getting up from my crouching position!!

Funnily enough, I love chatting to people when I am out - people in shops, other dog walkers, etc. etc. In fact I will talk to anybody. (I don't invite them round though!!)

Just a quick thought. I don't accept wedding invitations or party invitations, etc. these days either. Is that mean? I just can't stand parties any more and yet I thrived on them in my younger days.

My offspring have been told to elope and tell me afterwards!! I loathe and despise formal occasions. I end up with back ache from tension and want to go home before I even get there. And having to make polite conversation is dreadful. Would rather stay at home and watch the tele!

My inlaws are great ones for arranging family do's. My family don't really do hiring places and putting stuff together. I shall be 50 this December & I just know I will be asked to have a 50th party. I have already discussed it with my partner that I don't want anything like that, he said, it's months away, what are you worrying about it for??? Anyway, he knows what I'm like xxx

This is very weird!! I don't send xmas cards either and only b'day cards when I absolutely have to!! My brother keeps calling us freaks, now I can say factually that we're not. Crouching tiger, hidden Bananie. We're only in our 30's as well.
