It's all about perception - and human nature.
Human nature dictates that we think the very best of ourselves. and shy away from being sometimes as honest as we need to be - and Mr Assange is proving that point entirely. You and I think he is hiding away from a court case, he thinks he is being imprisoned without trial - it's just a case of how you look at the situation.
I do believe the Trump is unelectable, not because he is bigoted ignorant boorish short-tempered petulant self-obsessed wind bag - plenty of candidates can tick those boxes in elections for anything.
No - he is unelectable because he is not a politician, he has no political experience, and no understanding of how the real political system actually works.
Mr Trump has treated his campaign like it's a reality show - which is what his experience area is - but that does not make him a suitable candidate for a political office, because he is clearly not.

He is effectively detained. If he comes out he will be extradited to Sweden, and from there will almost certainly suffer "rendition".
The fact that Sweden insisted on extraditing him, even though the normal process would have been simply to interview him, indicates that rendition is extremely likely, and that the accusations he faces are primarily motivated by the desire of the US to get their hands on him.
