I cant imagine a Italian or French woman going to a ladies day looking like some of this lot.

Perhaps it isn't a case of finding it difficult to dress classy, perhaps it is more a case of not seeing a need to conform to some others' view of how one should dress ?

Most of my French neighbours with the exception of a few very stylish ones dress like bag ladies. The women however are much better dressed.

Nancy dell'Olio doesn't look too different from some of the ladies in the pictures. Maybe less flesh on display, but still not classy.
There will be other British women there who are dressed well, but the DM has chosen to show the worst-dressed ones, of course.
