Can eyes be closed on a dead man the same way an actors eyes are closed on film by using a finger and thumb ?.

I think so if you do it quickly; after rigor mortis sets in it may be harder.

Yes, but they dont always stay closed, and it needs to be done immediately, within a minute.

I think the problem with eye lids is as they are so thin the blood cools in them within seconds.

I believe an undertaker uses pegs to hold them closed until viewing.
