2 tyres needed changing. Wat a school run to remember...other parents kept pointing to my tyre. I told them I am well aware of the problem. 35 weeks pregnant, no money with me and had to drive to nearest tyre place to have them changed. Thankfully they knew me and trusted me to pay later. Phew, this is why I like living in a tight community.
people offered to change it for me but I didnt want to trouble anyone at the school gates. The second tyre was bold. Funny because we had police presence outside school...that would have gone down well one bold and driving with a puncture aswell.

"The second tyre was bold" - what do you mean?
I think she means the tyre was "bald".
I think she means 'bald' society ! :-))
Oh thanks you guys :)

Redman, good to see you. x

I didn't know it was bald till the tyre man said. Scrivens its tyre not tyres ;)
Sorry, I'm new here and browsing round the posts.

It does seem strange that you would knowingly drive on a punctured tyre and then find you had a bald one.

Please get them fixed before you take your children out next.

I'm with Clod here....an accident waiting to happen.

I told you I did not know my tyre was bald. The puncture happened outside school and down the road from tyre place. Thats why i decided to drive there rather than have it changed or wait for recovery because I could have been waiting ages. don't see how that makes me a bad person. I always maintain my car so its safe to drive. I have been driving a very long time and am very experienced. Anyway my tyre can't have been bald that long only had it checked a couple of weeks ago and kwik fit said they were sll fine.

Does that mean kwik fit are bad? Glad I went to the local place then. He's reliable.

// Anyway my tyre can't have been bald that long only had it checked a couple of weeks ago and kwik fit said they were all fine.//

Sorry but I don't get this, I assume you are saying you had a puncture so you drove to tyre place then I assume you are saying that your spare was bald but Kwick Fit had told you that all of your tyres were fine 2 weeks before, so how did your spare become bald in 2 weeks without being used ?

WR.
phleb, thank goodness you managed to sort it out. Without any harm . x

phleb..you are amazing. Bold tyres - that one would phase the police.Honestly you are. 2 bold tyres that is cool.
Qwik fit are pain in the a%^e fitters. Told me once that I needed a new engine (its an old car!) or scrap the car. Its still going 8 years later. You and me could open a garage tomorrow and we would wipe them out.
Question Author
my spare tyre is not bald, the one on rear of my car was bold - ish. Kwik fit didnt tell me that, the tyre man today said i should change it. It was unsafe though, probably could have drove it for a bit longer, but i wanted it changed seeing as i was there,
Question Author
coke, i do believe kwik fit are naughty for passing my tyres a couple of weeks ago, while doing the winter check. They could have at least said it will need changing at some point.... Maybe because it was not that bald they didn't seem worried, the tyre guy did say it can be ok for a bit longer, but i insisted that i needed to change it now, hate going back and forth. They are part worn.
