Military Weddings

I read somewhere that if a serviceman is married in uniform, and say is a corporal, then he is allowed to wear sergeant stripes for the day, i.e all service personell are allowed to be 'promoted for the day' on their wedding day.
I can not find any corroboration of this ??

I can't say I've ever heard of this. Been to a few military weddings (including one I partook in, in error), and none of the servicemen had "extra" stripes for the day.

I stand to be corrected though.
Tell us more 2sp, sounds like there is a "gness" story there.
Not quite, DT!

I meant that I married a serviceman in error in my youth. Really shouldn't have done it!
if it's true what happens when a field marshal gets married?
I haven't heard of this. I have known other ranks use ceremonial swords for the wedding ceremony which is bending the rules - swords usually only for commissioned officers.
I've never heard that - why would you?
More likely to be a Court MarshallOffence !
