There is nothing wrong with men wearing flip flops and ¾ shorts, i'm happy for men to go topless on the beach or at the park but in town is a bit unnecessary.

As a style guru I recommend flip flops with bermuda shorts, a knotted hankie with skid marks on it to set off the off white airtex vest.
You can pull many a young lady dressed like that.
