(Fri 21:55 31/Dec/04) Plateau's are broad flat-topped mountains with steep sides. They form as a result of various tectonic forces. Smaller structures resembling plateaus are known as mesas and buttes. Mesas are essentially small plateaus, and buttes are even smaller than mesas. You ask for the names of three - the Tibetan Plateau, the Mongolian Plateau and the Deccan Plateau (India).
