Relocation to London 2012

My family and I are moving to the London area for me to work at the Olympic site. I have 2 children a daughter of 12 and son of 6. We are thinking of Essex inside the M25. I want somewhere predominately English speaking with good schools and low crime stats - anyone got any ideas?

Its outside the M25, just, but Wickford is good, has decent schools, quiet, the people are sociable, and by train, its approx 20mins from Stratford, right next door to the Olympic site.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Lonnie. I've found some properties in a place called Hornchurch - has anyone any idea what this area is like.

Just a little futher down the road from Wickford is Billericay. Lovely area with good schools and about the same time by train to Stratford.
Hornchurch is also nice, a little nearer to London but I don't know about schools or crime rates tho, sorry.

Thanks Eash. The reason i am choosing these areas is because i need somewhere that has grazing for a horse and pony nearby. I'm yet to purchase them, but have promised my children this is something we were going to do - whilst we are living in Wales. I don't want to let them down when we move to the South East, but need somewhere close that my daughter could walk to or ride her bike in the summer and somewhere close to drive to in the Winter.

Not sure I can help with regards to areas for grazing horses/ponies however there are many fields with horses in them where I live here in Billericay so I presume there has to be stables somewhere!

eash is right about Billericay, a bit more expensive than Wickford, but you get what you pay for,

Hornchurch.
All depends which area your going to, but it'll have everything your after,

I wish you well with your move.
