Scarborough - opinions please!

Potentially got an opportunity to move to Scarborough soon, for maybe up to a year.

Going to go and visit soon hopefully, just wondering what other peoples' impressions of the place are?

I'm currently living in the Isle of Man, which is boring as anything, so looking for a change!

It is a beautiful area. Parts of the town are a bit run down, just like anywhere can be and especially seaside towns, but the coasts and countryside make up for it.

scarborough is grand purplepoodle...bit run down in places but a thriving night life scene..especialy for live rock music etc and motorcycle road racing once a year at olivers mount...where i nearly killed myself racing in '99! lots of friendly folk too!

My partner is thinking of going there to work in a tattoo studio so good to hear there's a rock music & motorbike scene - potentially more business for us!

Yes I see what you're saying and I realise it's probably not full of excitement and thrills but at least it won't be a 2 hour boat trip from civilisation (or Liverpool)....
