What the excellent Bio from Wikipedia doesn't tell you is,Nesbit knew that Bland had a mistress and tolerated it,When the mistress died leaving two young children,Nesbit took them in and brough them up as her own"(along with her own 3 children).
That takes some greatness of soul?
