I was on the Rasa Sayang cruise ship from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur which caught on fire in the Mallacca strts in 1977, we had to abandon ship, to the lifeboats, picked up by a Japanese oil tanker.Maybe you were on this cruise or knows someone that was. Maybe you should join a networking forum like Facebook and search for specific groups pertaining to the ship or even set up your own group there. Millions of people all over the world use Facebook, so you never know.

w0w - some "long shot" M....

I was also on board when (sad story) I lost a friend 'Bali' in that fire.. You may remember me - I was the big Brit with a beard (Chief Photographer).. I also sailed on her into China (the first cruise ship to go into China for 27 years - after Mao.) A cruise company rep confiscated all the photos I took and stole them - I never saw the many fire fighting shots that I took again... :(

She's now no more - After being sold to a Greek company it caught fire while being refit in Perama docks, Greece. and was towed out to sea, capsized and sunk near the island of Kynosoura

Were you a passenger, or crew/staff ?
