Nicest areas of Wokingham

I am wanting to move south from Halifax, West Yorkshire. As I am looking for an area with good state schools I am considering wokingham. Can anybody tell me what are the nicest parts of wokingham are. Preferably on the outskirts or nearby villages, with a few basic local shops. A semi-rural feel would be nice.

Towards the South of the Town - towards Crowthornre or Finchampstead would fit the bill.

But it's not cheap.

I live in brighouse and halifax isnt that bad, keep yourself up north, its a lot friendlier!
