How do I go about finding old regiment members?

As a favour to my dad, I'm trying to find out how he can try to trace some old regiment members he once served with... the regiment itself does not exist anymore so it's proving a bit difficult. My dad was stationed in Brackel (Dortmund) Germany during 1957-62, serving in the Royal Army Ordnance Corp (47GW Regiment, BFPO20) and he wants to try to trace some of the men he was based and served with. The regiment not longer exists as an individual and is now combined under another 'title'. I don't know how to help my dad and thought someone out there might be able to guide me on how to possible trace some of those men, any ideas please? Thank you.

I've noticed in the Daily Express & Mail regimental reunions advertised on the letters page. The British Legion are good and bringing the forces together, past & present. Take your dad to his nearest British Legion club (in fone directory). The WO (War Office, London), you google them, will tell you of any events and parades.

My brother John was a clerk in the RAOC at Napier Barracks from September 1960 to December 1962 and he is sure that he would have known your dad.
