does anybody know where i can get a wool conversion chart from. I would like to change my patterns to d.k. instead of the stated yarns

I am not sure what you mean. Do you mean use 4 ply wool for dk patterns?
Can you give an example?

yes, also to replace meringo, linet etc . is it possible if i knit a swatch to the same tension as on the pattern with alternative wool that it would come out the size stated on the pattern
