Boot sale advice

I'm hoping to go to a boot sale at the weekend. I've sold stuff at a boot sale only once, and that was many years ago, so I need advice and tips about what's best to do when selling things at boot sales. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Do you normally have to pay or book in advance? There's a big one on Saturday, near where I live. There was a number to ring, but the phone never gets answered. Shall I just turn up, do you think?

When you start to unload, keep an eye on everything because the other dealers will be round like flies to see what they can get first.
We used to say, very forcefully, that we weren't selling anything until we were set up.

we can just turn up at the one in birmingham and pay 6 pound on the gate but yours may be different. like matrix said baby clothes sell really well and we find that shoes do too. we normally put them under the table and just say a pound a pair.if you are selling clothes its a good idea to take a clothes rail cause we found that the stuff on the rails sell better as they can see them better. we made 219 pound last time we done one which was the first time we had done one. we just sold loads of rubbish to be honest, clothes shoes toys books. good luck. try and get a little bag to attach to your waist as you can never be too careful with your money.

Take a large flask - I spend all I make on fab bacon butties at our local one. Be prepared to be irritated by people bargaining over 10p. I find books are a waste of time - heavy to cart about and sell very few. Good kitchen stuff sells well and decent clothes and toys fly out.
