Brooklands revisited !

I'm a regular visitor to Brooklands (the world's first purpose built motor racing circuit and home to Vickers aviation) and was delighted when I stumbled upon this.
It's part of the series "James May's Toy Stories" where he, a team and a whole bunch of the local community came together to two race cars on a full sized re-creation the original circuit for the first time since the 1930s - allbeit Scalextric style.
They had to negotiate fences, corporate business buidings, drainage tunnels, a lake and a housing estate in order to follow what remains of the original circuit to its original layout ...and they did it.
They broke the record for the biggest slot-car track race at 2.953 miles.

I think it's heart warming :-)

I've posted the first of several Youtube links to the event - please watch all of them if interested.
My (token) question: how significant is this in Brooklands' history ?
