Can anyone help. I have an american crochet pattern that requires bedspread weight crochet cotton, what would the equivalent be in the UK. I have read somewhere that size 10 crochet cotton would be ok, but would 2 ply, 3ply or 4 ply yard suitable.

I use both English and American patterns and whichever cotton or yarn suits my mood. 2 and 3 ply may be a little light for a bedspread. I have used 4ply and DK.
I make a tension square more to get the feel of how it will hang than for size as that can easily be adjusted.
