play.com affected by Woolworths situation

I vaguely remember catching a bit of a news item in which it said certain CD / DVD online retailer's supplies were being affected by the Woolworths collapse.

Did anyone catch this and who am I best avoiding if ordering online for Christmas?

Thanks.

WH smith had a message on their website saying that they had supply problems. I received 2 wii games today from thehut.com - they seem to be fine.

I do hope play.com won't be affected tracie - I have a list of items to order from them within the next couple of days, to save me traipsing round the shops!

I use play.com a lot & the service has always been brilliant!

I've always found Amazon to be the best, usually stuff is delivered in 2 days. BTW why should these companies be affected by Woolworths collapse? I don't get it!

As part of the woolworths group, they have a large opeartion that supplies cds etc to other retail companies - those companies that are using woolworths as their supplier will obviously be facing some supply problems. I would expect that play is not affected as they would have a message on their site by now, or things would simply be unavailable for order.

Thanks all.

It seems play.com are not affected so I've placed an order there - both items cheaper than amazon. Just hope their delivery / customer service is as good.

never had a problem with play - well, i did once, but their customer service was really good and sorted it out straight away. I also use thehut.com and sentit.com and have great service from them as well. Shop around, plenty bargains to be had.

I think Zavvi are the main ones, a few major wholesalers have also gone down now too.
I use dvd.co.uk and have found them to be excellent, a lot of their prices are cheaper than play too! well worth a look
