does anyone know where I can get microsoft word or works? cheaper the better!

Don't bother with Works - it is incompatible with a lot of other programs, unless it is solely for your own use and you don't intend opening documents from other people.

Try OpenOffice - it is as good as Office and is totally compatible, and best of all, it is free.

Unless you need Word for a particular purpose?

Remember to save your documents in the .doc format, not the default. Then anyone with Word will be able to read it easily
