Furnishing an entire house

I have to completely furnish our new house in the next 2 months. Apart from sitting with Tesco Direct and Argos Catalogues - any suggestions please!! We live 2.5 hours away from shops!!!!

Have you got anywhere to store furniture in the meantime?
If so, have you thought of auction rooms?

Any bed shop should hold the goods until you are ready for them (within reason) - most have at least a four week delivery date in any case. Same with a three piece suite and electrical goods.

Check out all the furniture shops in the area (that is the one that's two and a half hours away!) and make a day of it visiting them all.

Look for furniture online? Most decent furniture stores have websites.

ebay covers everywhere, and there are delivery options, but why the deadline, to get it right you need time and alot of thought, do the essential rooms first and don'r rush it

Thank you all :)
Auction rooms - not an option - don't have any of them either!! Ikea don't deliver here! :( E-bay problematic as there would be a large delivery charge when all items are delivered seperately :( Furniture stores on-line - you can't sit on things or see material SOOOOOOO am off to the big city to look and look and look AND pick up as many catalogues as I can.
Thank you all again

Just a thought, if Ikea doesn't deliver, you should be able to hire a man-with-a-van and get your stuff that way. It might work out cheaper than heavy delivery charges for other shops. It depends what sort of furniture you want, of course!

Try Marks and Spencers, Next and Dwell websites for furniture that can be delivered
