gifts for newborns...

I'm about to become an uncle to a nephew/niece for the first time in three weeks and have no idea. Im going to give some money for my brother to open a child trust fund but i also want to buy something so the child knows i gave it the day they were born. any ideas out here? im totally clueless!

A bag containing some future nostalgic items:

1) paper from the day they were born!
2) CD single of the song that was no1 in the charts at the time

A keepsake, ie silver bangle, rattle, money box, cross & chain (whatever for another faith). All with card from Uncle ??

A Bible.
You could get an Ex-libris (bookplate) from the bookshop to write the date and your message to the baby on.
