Primark website

Why is it that Primark hasn't got a website where you can buy from? I know not having it probably keeps their overheads down and helps keep prices down but it would be great if you could avoid all the hussle and bustle of the shops as they're always packed happy_face (Fri 13:14 11/Nov/05)

Primark probably think that their low-price goods aren't suited to web sales. People who are prepared to pay 100 for a designer blouse from an up-market online store won't be put off when they see "plus 5 for post and packing". However the same charges for p&p would be totally off-putting to most people who'd consider buying a 7 blouse from Primark.

If you want to suggest to Primark that they should try online sales, then why not write to them? :

Blimey, I was in Primark (we have a lovely huge new one at Lakeside, its fantastic) yesterday and ended up in the changing rooms on 4 separate occasions as the sizing between garments is unbelievably different. Imagine ordering on line, it would be a nightmare, what size would you order, then it would probably have to be returned

Maybe for the same reason that you can't buy anything over the web from IKEA either?
It could be a tactic designed to get customers through the doors and spend even more money.

With the amount of hassle and protection of customers rights, I am amazed that any company offers online sales.

Under distance selling regulations, you can return the goods up to 14 days after purchase - and you only have to keep "reasonable care" of the goods. So you can actually wear something and return it later. Plus, as mentioned above you have the hassle of delivery, potential fraud regarding deliveries, all money would be debit/credit cards which incur charges, a fairly sophisticated software system would need to be installed as well as a new picking area - all of which costs money.

Would be fairly doubtful whether there would be a sufficient increase in their business.

The best times to visit Primark is between 9 - 10am after that it goes crazy with people pushing and shoving and why is there always a baby crying or kid screaming when I visit. It sounds awful but I would ban kids from Primark. Just stick to early mornings like I said, obviously that rules Sundays out because it does not open till 11am. Regarding somebodies comments on sizes, they are terrible. You have to try on different sizes to get an item to fit right.
