Can anyone recommend a good electric kettle, mine don't seem to last long even when I have bought expensive ones.

I have one I bought at Sainsbury's a couple of years ago for £5. At that price, I wouldn't mind if it didn't last long. But it's fine. Gets loads of use.
We have two from Lidl...fast-boil (3kW), stylish-ish, reliable (3 year warranty) and only £14.99. Oh, and they have adjustable temperature control as well...if you don't need water that's actually boiling.
Thee 'basic or Value' ones from the big supermarkets work just as well.
With prices of £6 or less just regard them as disposable.
I can't recommend any one, but try to avoid a steel one. We had one, and we thought it was too heavy, even when it was empty.
I think the cheap ones work as well as the dear ones.
Depends on what you want them to look like, I'd say.
I favour the cheapos as I can throw them out if they conk out....haven't really had to do that for a few years now though.
I bought a £5 kettle too, one reason being it was light...It's been the best one I've ever had. Now I've said that it'll probably pack up :) but I've had more than my money's worth out of it.

Hope it doesn't go wrong Robinia, thanks for your reply. Thanks everybody.
If you live in a hard-water area do you de-scale often. If not the element can overheat and burn itself out, even the "concealed" type.
I bought one recently from Currys. Price £22.99. It is the best pouring kettle I have ever had. No dribbles. russell-hobbs-colours-18946-jug-kettle-black-19254835. Mine is black but comes in different colours
