Battery powered lamps

Need some lighting to read in the conservatory but the sockets are on the other side of where my little reading chair is and I don't want an ugly extension lead running all round the edge sp I'm looking for some battery operated lamps but searched only come up with fair lights or things that are about £50.

Anyone know of any slightly cheaper alternatives that will provide a decent enough amount of light to read by?

Aahh thanks A but I was hoping for something that would provide a little ambient lighting without making me feel like i should be doing some dive and rolls :)

Maybe you should invest in some rechargeable batteries (and a charger too) - has saved us a fortune (we must have at least 60 rechargeable batteries doing the rounds in the house).

Yeah good idea Sher. Not that I would 'borrow' some rechargeable batteries from the work supplies or anything ;)
