Black or brown cross body handbag

I've been looking for a nice reasonably priced one of these for a while. I usually go for leather look (cant afford actual leather) and preferably black. Looked in various places around Manchester City Centre.

Lots of room needed as I tend to carry all sorts round with me and a strong strap across the body to balance the weight (main reason for getting one to prevent strain from a heavy bag over one shoulder) and preferably with some pockets or diving thing inside rather than one large space (eg a zippable pocket I can put meds in). Also preferably quite secure (eg a flap or zip) so not so targetable for thieves.

Any ideas as to where I can get one for preferably under £20/£30 would be great :)

I bought one for £10 from Asda a couple of weeks back. It's got two small outside pockets, some zippy compartments inside and seems quite sturdy (couldn't find a picture though). I carry all the usual stuff plus crayons, wipes, spare drawing paper, etc and seems to be doing the job.

Sorry, it's brown leather (or stuff that looks like leather).

Have a look on eBay, you could get a nice leather one for that amount.

Accessorize is always the first place I look for bags. I have one like you describe but it's sort of a cream colour. Ive had it since last year and it's perfect. Not too big but it fits all my crap in it plus room for an extra jumper or something. I think it was about £25.00.

Thanks all :) Couldn't find one on Asda's website but might pop up and have a look and hit Accessorize too.

Never think of looking on ebay but will have a look, see what I can find.

primark has some in black, non leather, not sure about price but 10 quid or under. in the mens department

Thanks Em, I had a look in Primark today but very short on bags in the men's section (some nice men though!). They are doing all kinds of renovations to ours at the moment (it's huge, 3 massive floors currently) so have one floor cut off and bits out of others so cut down on stock. Will keep an eye though. Found one in the ladies' section but almost a bit too big and the strap was quite slim and not sure it'd last for long with all the stuff I carry about :)

Will have to get up to Asda and Accessorize. Couldn't face getting on another bus up to Asda today after the three I was on were like saunas!
