faulty goods

I bought my son a adidas original hoody for christmas (£55). The zip has broken on it! I still have the receipt. Can I still return it even though he's had it for 4 months?

I would certainly try - zips should last longer than 4 months. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Yes! Look up sale of goods act but an item of clothing should last longer than 4 months.
You have nothing to lose by returning it to the shop where you bought it.
