Suitable present

I need to buy a thank you gift for a technician who has been really helpful in getting me old films and dvds of my past work for a show reel. I want to get him a pressie but it needs to be posted to him. Alcohol springs to mind, but what do you buy?! He is around 65, and a 'salt of the earth' type!
Any ideas?

I would be careful about sending a booze related gift voucher unless I knew that he drinks for sure. How about a phaleanopsis or 'moth' orchid in a pot, serveral firms do them over the internet & because the flowers last for months & months, it isn't run of the mill. most poeple are chuffed & on mostly neglect they will flower each year.
